Jyotiba Temple

Jyotiba temple is 18 km from Kolhapur city. Legend states that three gods took the form of Jyotiba to destroy the evil demon Ratnasur who was terrorizing the region. Jyotiba, the amalgamation of the souls (jyotis) of 3 deities- Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesha. While Sunday are special for visited this temple.

Panhala Fort

Panhala lies on the Sahyadri Mountain Range and is situated in the Kolhapur district of Maharashtra. It is about 22 km to the northwest of Kolhapur on the Kolhapur-Ratnagiri road and is at an altitude of 3177 feet above sea level.

Mahalaxmi Temple

The Shri Mahalaxmi Temple of Kolhapur is one of the Shakti peetha located in Maharashtra. The various puranas of ancient India have listed 108 shaktipeethas where Shakti (the goddess of power) is manifested. Amongst these, Shri Mahalaxmi of the Karveer area (the area where the present town of Kolhapur is located), is of special significance.

Bhavani Mandap

This is a historical building situated in close proximity to the famous Mahalaxmi Temple, within the walled precincts of Kolhapur City. Although smaller in size than the Mahalaxmi Temple yet the Bhavani Mandap has great religious significance for the devout as it is the temple of Goddess Tulja Bhavani.

New Palace

The Museum is housed on the ground floor of the New Palace- the current residence of Shrimant Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur. The museum has on display memorabilia belonging to the Kolhapur rulers which include royal apparel, jewelry, coins, weapons, and silver elephant saddles, one of Aurangzeb’s swords.

Rankala Lake

The lake takes its name from the Rankabhairav temple which is believed to be submerged at the centre of the lake. The lake is flanked on its west by majestic Shalini Palace. The south-east bank of the lake has been developed into a pathway, park and sit-outs. There are local fast food stalls, horse-riding for children and boating on the lake as part of the tourist attraction.

Narsoba Wadi

Nrusinhawadi is a capital of Datta devotees. This religious place is situated on the sacred confluence of Krishna and Panchaganga rivers at distance of 45Km from Kolhapur. Swamiji’s stay added sacredness and the attraction of people.

Bahubali

Kumbhoj is the name of an ancient city located 8 km away from Hathkanagale town in Kolhapur district, Maharashtra. This is a famous Jain pilgrimage centre and believed to be an Atishaya Kshetra-a place of miracles.

Chinmay Ganpati is 14 Km away from Kolhapur. Situated at Chinmaya Sandeepany Ashram is the World’s Tallest Ganesh Murti. Chinmaya Ganadhish has become a holy place of pilgrimage. Thousands of people visit this place especially on Sankashti Chaturthi.

Kaneri Math

Kaneri Math has a history that dates back to 1200 years and is dedicated to Lord Mahadeva. The Museum is a unique project that showcases the self-sufficiency of village life as envisioned by Mahatma Gandhi. Various aspects of a village life are recreated here.
